Hullloooo...! Anybody out there???
If you all know other queer Hawaiins on Tribe...Pass the word around....Lets get connected!!!
As I've probably mentioned, I'm moving to Maui (lahaina) from the Bay Area and I'd love to meet other queer ppl for friendship & maybe to eventually be roomates when I find a place....!!
Answer these questions:
1. What island are you on?
2. How important is a gay/queer community to you?
3. What's your status: Are you looking for a roomate? Need a place?
4. Who would your ideal housemate/roomate be?
My answers:
1. I'm on the island of Maui...in Lahaina..At least temporarily until I find an area i like better.
2. A gay/queer community is important to me. I think we all need to stick together.
3. I'm going to be living/working in Lahaina for a few months and then, from there, I'll be looking for a place. Prefereably, I'll find a place in a very gay/queer friendly area with gay/queer roomates.
4. My ideal roomate or housemate would be respectful, kind, laid back and open-minded.
Ur turn!!

Re: IntroductionS!
Fri, March 25, 2005 - 10:38 PMAloha. I live in Kihei. From what I have noticed its the most friendly place for gay people. I can't say I'm gay, somewhat BI. I am really balanced in my masculine and FEMININE qualities and from bouncing off my last few experiences with men, I'm leaning towards goddess-worship. You'll definitely feel love here. -

Sat, March 26, 2005 - 1:24 PMi cant really say i am gay either. really i am just lisa and prefer women all around.... i dont like to be put in a box and try not to do that to others.... hence any real estate agent would be good:)
i feel people have alot more to express other than who they choose to sleep with. -

Re: IntroductionS!
Sat, March 26, 2005 - 6:10 PMwell certainly, I'm always open to new and friendly people. Seems lately I have paved the way for major transition. I've lost a few friends this month, one of which I went to high school with and she moved to maui and decided to never speak to me. Life goes on. Maui is especially transitory, but I have to work on keeping my own feet on the ground. Aloha. -

Re: IntroductionS!
Sat, April 16, 2005 - 10:38 PMI agree fully with you, Lisa. Boxes are no good. We're all human beings. We live in a very superficial society so it's especially important to re-train our brains to see through all of the nonsense...People here in Maui seem like fairly conscious beings... -

Re: IntroductionS!
Thu, September 14, 2006 - 10:58 AMHello Lou, Tolver, Lisa and everyone.
Hello, my name is Rose, I'm new to tribe and am living in Berkeley. I'll be moving to Hawaii Nov. 15th (one way ticket in hand!)
1. I haven't figured out what island to stay on yet but I'll be flying into Honolulu and at least hopping over to the Big Island.
2. Being from SF/Bay Area, a gay/queer friendly community is very important . Openmindedness is even more important to me though.
3. I'm myself, sometimes I like boys, mostly I like girls, my girlfriend will be coming to the island with me but only for a week, we are in an open relationship right now esp. with the move coming up. I am most definately LOOKING FOR A ROOMATE, and yep, I need a place. I've been to Hawaii twice but as a tourist so I really don't know my way around.
4. My ideal housmate would be someone who is good with communication, I'm pretty easy going and can get along with anyone.. I'm an artist and fire dancer, injured right now so I'm mostly working on getting myself physically strong again.
I am so glad that groups like this exist, this makes my heart feel more at home knowing that there is acceptance and connection. If you have any helpful hints that would be great!
thank you!
